X now pays only for original posts — reposts earn nothing under Original Content Rewards

X has replaced engagement-based Creator Revenue Sharing with a subscriber-only system that counts only original posts seen in the Home Timeline, with a narrower doorway and no published rate.

X has replaced its old engagement-based Creator Revenue Sharing with Original Content Rewards, a system that pays only for original posts seen by paying subscribers. GenZ NewZ reported on October 26 that the new program, which took over in September, counts a post only when a Premium viewer sees at least half of it in the Home Timeline. Replies are excluded from both eligibility and rewards.

The doorway is narrower. Applicants must be adults in a supported country, in good standing, with an active Premium, Premium Plus or Premium Business subscription just to apply. They also need at least 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the previous 90 days. Reposted clips, recycled memes and reply-chain tactics that could earn under the old formula no longer qualify.

Payouts arrive every two weeks, with a reported $30 minimum. What a qualifying post will actually earn remains unclear: X has published no fixed rate per impression, no guaranteed revenue figure and no total size for the reward pool, so creators cannot yet work backward from views to an expected payment.

From the crate: X, if original work is now the only work that pays, publish the rate that values it — a rule creators can read is worth more than a pool they cannot see.
