Nigeria's live scene just got a place on the global ballot. NewsCarte reports that Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, and Carter Efe have been nominated for Best International Streamer at the 2026 Streamer Awards, in nominations announced Friday via a post on X.

They share a five-person shortlist with Indian streamer Ashswag, Polish creator Young Multi and Cuban streamer Staryuuki. NewsCarte notes both Nigerians built large followings through engaging live content, collaborative streams and viral moments, during a year of massive growth for Nigeria's streaming community, driven by TikTok Live, Twitch and YouTube. Peller, who recently said he was invited to TikTok's office in the United Kingdom, described the nomination as a milestone and dedicated it to his fans.

Voting for the category is now open on the official awards website and closes October 31. Winners will be decided by a combination of 70% public votes and 30% panellist scores. The ceremony is scheduled for November 12, 2026, in Los Angeles, and will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.

From the crate: Streamer Awards, a 70/30 split between the crowd and the panel is a fair way to honour both reach and craft — keep that count public when voting closes.
