YouTube lets reactors keep the live money — originals get credit and control

YouTube is expanding Watch With to eligible long-form videos, letting reacting creators keep live ad revenue and fan funding while original creators keep attribution and a veto.

YouTube is widening its Watch With feature beyond livestreams. At Made on YouTube, the platform said creators will soon be able to tap “React live” on any eligible long-form video or livestream, with a rollout starting later this year. The original video plays alongside the reacting creator's own live feed. The money split is the headline for creators. Reacting creators keep the live ad revenue and fan funding they earn during their stream. Original creators, in return, get clear attribution, added view credit in YouTube Studio, and full control over which of their videos can be reacted to — but YouTube did not say they share in the reaction stream's ad or fan-funding income. The scale explains the push. YouTube said that in August 2026, on average, more than 600 million logged-in viewers watched live content each day. For smaller live creators, reacting to an existing video could be a lower-cost way to go live regularly. For original creators, the trade is exposure and control, without a confirmed revenue share.
