X moves U.S. creator payouts from Stripe into X Money
Since September 2, U.S. payouts for Original Content Rewards and subscriptions go through X Money instead of Stripe — outside the U.S., Stripe remains the route.
X is making its own payments product part of getting paid on the platform. According to BitcoinVersus.Tech, U.S. payouts for Original Content Rewards and creator subscriptions moved from Stripe into X Money beginning September 2, following an announcement from the platform's Creators account.
The change is required for U.S. creators, not an extra option alongside Stripe. X said payouts would be available as soon as they are sent through X Money, and reporting cited by the article described the move as mandatory in the United States. Creators outside the United States continue to connect a Stripe payout account, so the platform now runs two different payout routes by geography.
The timing matters because the payment rail is changing at the same time as the programme itself. X is retiring its older Creator Revenue Sharing scheme and shifting eligible creators toward Original Content Rewards, which puts more weight on original material. For creators, the lesson is practical: check which programme you are in, and which account your money will actually land in, before the next payout is due.
